World Language
The World Language Department at Hamilton High School offers a variety of options for its students. With up to six levels of language offered, the department goes above and beyond to help our students in the study of world languages. Our program adheres to the Arizona World Language Standards. If a student participates in the complete program from Level 1/2 to one of the AP Levels, and is dedicated to the language, they should be well-prepared to obtain proficiency and fluency in the four essential skills of reading, writing, listening, and speaking in their target language.
We strive to inspire a love of language that encourages students to keep increasing their proficiency/fluency throughout life! Our program is rigorous. The honors-level classes usually begin during the third year of world language. Additionally, beginning at Level 3, we offer an optional Dual Enrollment opportunity through Chandler-Gilbert Community College.
Hamilton High School also offers a program for native speakers of Spanish!
The following courses are offered in sequential order. Starting levels are determined by the student's prior experience and current language abilities. Placement testing for higher levels is available upon request, prior to the course start date.
